Why Quit Drinking?

Why one should quit drinking might seem like a no-brainer, because, duh, why wouldn’t you want to get sober? The most recent numbers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention put alcohol related deaths in the United States at 178,000 during a year long period in 2020–2021. That is 488 a day.

Two thirds of those deaths are from the chronic conditions that can develop over long-term alcohol abuse: your heart disease, your liver disease, your cancer. The killers that like to start twisting the knife when you didn’t even know you had been stabbed.
