The Two Parties as Prison Gangs
<p>I think it is pretty simple: the two dominant political parties operate similarly to prison gangs. If you’re not familiar with <a href="https://www.inmatesurvival.com/how-to-survive-prison-gangs-while-youre-doing-time/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">how prison gangs work</a>, they are run primarily as protection rackets: A newly arrived prisoner is pressured to join a gang, otherwise they will be without protection against predations from other prisoners (prison guards offer only limited protection, and bring their own problems). The gangs are primarily organized along the lines of racial identity, and mixing is strictly forbidden. The gangs parse out their respective spheres of influence in agreements with one another in order to keep the peace (punctuated by the occasional turf war). The gangs are strictly hierarchical, with their bosses wielding absolute authority over members. And they demand strict obedience and loyalty from their members…forever. Everything the gangs say and believe is dictated by purely tribalistic motives, they have no principles of right or wrong, they only care about their own power.</p>
