Why PlayStation’s Showcase Didn’t Live Up To The Hype

Welp, that was a disappointment. After months of hype, the 2023 Playstation showcase mostly fell flat on its face. From speculation of gaming insiders of what might be presented along with the fact PlayStation hasn’t had a showcase since 2021, this showing was supposed to be great. Sadly though it wasn’t, as it failed to deliver in two key areas that would have made gamers happy.

Lack of Games From Playstation’s First Party Developers:

In the gaming world we have first party games and third party games. Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo are the major gaming companies as they each have their own gaming system. They also own gaming development studios that make games specifically for their gaming systems. That is what we call first party developers or studios. Any developer that isn’t owned by one of those companies but makes games for one of those systems or all of them, is a third party developer.

So what are the various developers who are part of Playstation up to?? That seems to be the million dollar question on everyone’s mind. Many thought this would get answered during the showcase, but unfortunately it barely was. We got updates from Haven Studios and Firewalk Studios on the games they are working on, which are two pvp shooters. Haven’s is a heist game called Fairgame$ and Firewalk’s is called Concord which is a sci fi fps game coming out next year.

Visit Now
