A Hike To Playa Malpaso
<p>We didn’t dawdle too long after breakfast this morning. Being a weekend meant that the main downtown area and the town beach would be crowded. A Saturday craft market in the town square only added to the noise and wall-to-wall people. We were on a mission to leave it all behind.</p>

<p>We walked two kilometres through town to reach the jungle at the north end of the town and the entrance to the jungle. We thought we would have the trail to ourselves, but two separate encounters with mountain cyclists and another to encounters with hikers heading in the opposite direction taught me to refrain from free-hiking.</p>
