NZ ranks tenth in 2023 global giving index
<p>Aotearoa New Zealand has come in at number ten in the just released 2023 Global Giving Index. It sounds solid — but it’s the lowest ranking we’ve had since this annual index of generosity started in 2010. And if you share my aspiration that we can be the most generous country in the world, going backwards isn’t great. The trait of generosity — helping a stranger; volunteering and donating money — is too vital to allow it to slip.</p>
<p>So what’s going on, why have we dropped in the rankings, is it a blip or a trend, what can we do about it, and some ways to get giving!</p>
