We’d racked up four additional speeding tickets for him, two for each of his cars. Logically he could’t have been driving both but the police don’t care much for logic and so he would have to foot the bill. Luckily for us our contract kept us out of the drink, financially speaking; one of Kelly’s patients was a high powered entertainment lawyer and had drawn up our standard contract during an acupuncture session as a sort of relaxation exercise. It was pretty ironclad where indemnities were concerned but did have a few strange clauses relating to ‘embarrassment do to acne’. Apparently she’d gone to see her acupuncturist because of cystitis zits and the idea had leaked from her subconscious onto the page.
