<p>“Who rescued who?” That’s a common phrase you’ll find on bumper stickers and social media posts among pet owners. In my case, I can unequivocally say my Golden Retriever, Max, rescued me.</p>
<p>Max entered my life as a bundle of energy and curiosity, with a shimmering golden coat and the most soulful eyes you’ve ever seen. Little did I know then, this fluffy creature would grow up to become my lifeline, my guard, my therapist, and my best friend.</p>
<p>When I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, life seemed to lose its color. It was like I was stuck in a never-ending tunnel, with no light at the end. Enter Max, my beacon of hope. His service animal training was rigorous, but his inherent gentleness, intelligence, and steadfast loyalty made him an ideal candidate.</p>
