Why is Killing Being Justified?
<p>That is the number of states across America that still use the death penalty in 2024.</p>
<p>I’m not going to try to persuade you to agree with me on this, but I want to share the facts and my own opinions on the matter. Whether you agree or not, let me know what you think in the comments.</p>
<p>Capital punishment, a.k.a. the death penalty, is a criminal sentence once used on convicted rapists, but now given exclusively to convicted murders. The death penalty was once legal in all states and has been abolished more than once. The most recent nationwide abolition was in 1972 and lasted only to 1976 when the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the states deciding. Since the death penalty is state-sanctioned and not federally regulated, the government in each state can decide if it will be used or not.</p>
