As a Texan who has lived in this state all of my life, I grew up hearing old folks harp about wanting Texas to secede from the United States, but Texans would face a harsh reality if it were to happen. Not only that but US republicans would have a hard time winning elections due to the state being largely republican, and having such a large population of voters.
