Here’s Why This “Learn To Trust Your Team, Do Not Micro-Manage” Statement Will Remain A Good Theory But Not Practical

<p>Don&rsquo;t ask me how I know this. I just know. It comes from both experiences and observations of course. I&rsquo;ve worked with a number of companies since 2014 on marketing strategy and I saw a number of good dramas. Out of 20 companies I met, only one company trusts their team members. The rest, their modus operandi are all a yes-boss company.</p> <p>Yes, it is a good theory but it&rsquo;s not practical due to many reasons. Interesting isn&rsquo;t it? It is. Let&rsquo;s dig in on the reasons. There are three main ones actually.</p> <h1>Our leader is God</h1> <p>I came across this company back in 2021. It is a decent-sized company with a deep-pocket holding company behind them. Here, the money is not an issue at all. Since the company is doing well in what they do, and the CEO also had a solid background of being the formerly number two guy in a now-defunct US-based conglomerate with a worldwide presence, the team members can&rsquo;t question the boss. They just can&rsquo;t. As a matter of fact, the CEO has this habit of only listening to himself. Despite claiming that he is open-minded and willing to listen, the truth is he doesn&rsquo;t. Usually, his mind has already been made up and every single input being put forward will be dismissed with his version of justification why that can&rsquo;t be done. The problem is that nothing can be done without this person&rsquo;s approval.
