Unraveling the Gender Politics of Pockets

<p>Asa professional sewer and maker, I contemplate clothing accessories more often than most people.</p> <p>But until researching the history of pickpocketing (don&rsquo;t ask!), I had no idea how much the evolution of women&rsquo;s pockets paralleled the cultural and legal sexism of the times.
