I organize courses focused on teaching technology skills to those who need it, in collaboration with friends from the university. In April 2021, the course Python for Earth Sciences: An Approach to Modeling was held. The course clearly would use GemPy. The instructor, a Geological Engineer who has a blog about Python and Geology (spanish), had worked with Gempy successfully. But it was the first time this course was taught.
The first hours of the course consisted of installing Anaconda and GemPy, as well as Theano and other auxiliary libraries to facilitate the manipulation of geographic, geological, geophysical, geochemical data, among others. But all, yes, all registered people (besides me) had problems with the installation of one or more libraries, Gempy mainly. So I saw the need to find a way to install Gempy and other packages without causing errors.
