Home can be a sturdy structure and, at the same time, a fluid sensation.

Prior to investigating what home and belonging meant to others, I asked myself what home and belonging meant to me. My definition of the words home and belonging were heavily intertwined. When I am with my loved ones I can be anywhere in the world and feel at home. When my loved ones are not around, even when I am in my home I feel homesick. Being home and feeling like I belong is related to the relationships that I have.

In my research I followed the American Anthropological Association’s code of ethics. I made sure there was no harm done to my interviewees, I was open and honest about my work, I obtained consent, I weighed competing ethical obligations, my results are accessible, my records are protected/preserved, and I maintained professional/ethical relationships.
