Female Truckers: The Fabulous Minority
<p>Tik-Tok has swept the nation with its quick videos on everything from popular gossip to mental health. With the TikTok craze has come a look into the lives of those less known, one of which being the female trucker community. When you think of truckers, you think of fat, sweaty, maybe even creepy man who picks up prostitutes at truck stops, don’t you? What about those who TikTok has exposed us to, fabulous, well-dressed, bedazzled women also making a decent living driving trucks?</p>
<p>CDL stands for commercial driver’s license, which is required for anyone driving a truck towing 26,000 lbs or more. This means all those “big rigs” you see out there have a driver with a CDL. A small percentage of that population is women. But why? Why is this industry, like many others, dominated by men? Is it because women are at home taking care of their babies? Or is it because women are lazy and prefer easier jobs?</p>
