More Widespread Knowledge of Economics Would Prevent Much Ethnic Turmoil

I believe it is absolutely vital that at least some proportion of the citizenry of any society obtains and maintains a solid grasp of some fundamental principles of economics and concepts which economists have come up with over the years, far beyond the usual benefits economists claim, which are typically about wiser voters demanding fewer bad policies from government. This is indeed another solid reason, but in my opinion, it is not nearly as important as another reason I have never heard an economist articulate explicitly.

The only one who I have seen articulate it even implicitly is the great American economist Thomas Sowell, and I have learned this lesson from reading over 10 of his books.
