Teaching Kids Healthy Eating and Fitness in 140 Characters or Less
<p><strong><em>Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional. I’m very lucky to have three healthy, active children, which may or may not have anything to do with the unsolicited advice given below.</em></strong></p>
<p>When my oldest kids were two years, and nine months old, I went to the baby shower of a close friend. There, we played a ‘game’: each mom there had to give her Number One piece of advice for the mom-to-be. From “it goes by so fast, so enjoy every precious minute” to “they tell you not to, but it’s ok to rock them to sleep”, it was full of the starry-eyed reminiscence and sickly-sweet sentiments of people whose children were now old and stinky, or maybe just didn’t want to frighten the new mom… Until it got to my turn. I was still in it, and deep.</p>
