There are Consequences for Everyone when Companies Ignore Diversity in Tech
<p>I once asked my CIO at a round table, if the company had a plan to increase diversity in our IT teams. He said, ”No.”</p>
<p>PERIOD.</p>
<p>That’s it. No discussion, not even a token pretend statement about valuing diversity. In fact, it was clear he did <strong>not</strong> value diversity.</p>
<p>He went on to the next question, leaving me feeling foolish and invisible. That CIO left our company under dubious circumstances two years later.</p>
<p>But his dismissal of even having a conversation about diversity in tech stuck with me.</p>
