Dharamsing Teron | Elder
<p>Referred to as 16 communities’ elder, Dharamsing Teron is one of the leading Indigenous activists from Karbi Anglong who has done significant work towards creating awareness about traditional knowledge surrounding the indigenous communities of his home region.</p>
<p>He has actively engaged in documenting the vanishing oral tradition of Karbi and is the editor of the famous “Karbi Studies” series in collaboration with young Karbi researchers, writers, and translators. He is currently the founding Director of the “Center for Karbi Studies”. The Study Center aims to encourage and promote indigenous research in the most under-researched areas. For his tremendous contributions he was awarded the 1st Northeast Unsung Heroes.</p>
