My Bookshop Bender

At the start of 2023, I had a large stack of books in the corner of my room in my designated ‘Unread’ pile. Fast forward to the middle of July and my coffers are empty, the pile diminished and the contents of many pages absorbed into my brain. Yes I know I am so buff, hot and cool to have actually read all the books I had before I went out to buy more. But nevertheless, it was time to go book shopping and having recently bought Kurt Vonneguts ‘Player Piano’ for my book club for the price of $24 I resolved to head for the second-hand stores. I went online did some googling and picked out three bookshops to hit on my little adventure and then planned my routes to each one. I am so glad Melbourne has such a comprehensive public transport network so my not learning to drive doesn’t hinder me too much. My attitude going into this was that I would just peruse the stores and hopefully pick out random books that seemed interesting and were relatively short because ya boy has a GoodReads goal to hit.
