I’m Learning To Say No To Almost Everything

It’s a simple word, and often one of the first ones we learn, but many of us don’t use it enough. You may be aware that learning to say no is the key to a more peaceful and manageable life, but could it also lead to a more successful one?

Some (very) successful people think it can. Warren Buffet apparently once put it this way:

“The difference between successful people and really successful people is that really successful people say no to almost everything.”

I’m still struggling with the process of saying no to almost everything, but I’m saying no to (a lot) more things. More writing projects, more ‘opportunities’, more training courses and webinars, more random events and invitations.

If your ‘opportunity’ has landed unsolicited in my email inbox recently, you’ve likely been instantly deleted. I apologise. It’s not you, it’s me (and my pesky, newly-formed boundaries). I’m saying no to everything that isn’t an immediate “Hell, yes” and honestly, very few things are.

I’m focusing on the content, projects, and platforms I most enjoy. I’m focusing on promoting the affiliate partners I most respect and admire. And I’m putting my energy into the people and situations that give me most (emotionally, financially or practically) in return.
