Black History Month: Alice Coachman The Olympian

<p>Alice Coachman was an American track and field athlete who gained prominence for her accomplishments in the high jump. She was born on November 9, 1923, in Albany, Georgia, and passed away on July 14, 2014. Coachman made history at the 1948 London Olympics by becoming the first African American woman to win an Olympic gold medal.
