THE STORY OF AFSHIN JAVID

Afshin Javid was born in Iran near the border with Iraq. The family were devout Muslims, particularly Afshin’s Grandfather. As early as he can remember Afshin had a fervent desire to be pleasing to Allah. The family saw he was different and his Grandfather mentored him. In his own words he was a reckless young boy always attempting dangerous stunts on his bike and at play. Each time he was in danger of being hurt he would see a tall man watching him from a distance. He sensed this man was there to protect him. The family believed the man was one of the deceased Muslim Patriarchs.

During the Iraq/Iran war Afshin, 14 yrs, lied about his age and volunteered to be one of the boys who walked ahead of the Army through the minefields. The boys were killed but the Army had a path through. His father arrived in time to give Afshin’s correct age and extract him from the bus transporting the boys to the front. A year or so later at the suggestion of an Army officer Afshin joined the Iranian Hezbollah. They were the revolutionary guard who enforced allegiance to Islam. They answered only to the Ayatollah, and conducted public executions.
