Whew. Finally, Tokyo’s record-breaking semitropical summer has come to an end.
The heatwave lasted the entire summer, from June to August, and lingered into September. Heat-related deaths climbed by over 50%. Train services were delayed or canceled due to track overheating.
Yours truly is built more for the cold than the heat — in that I can always add an extra layer. :-) I found the relentless heat and sun exhausting this year, and frequently spent my free time drowsily relaxing on our reclining sofa rather than, say, posting more frequently here on Medium. :-)
But autumn is finally here. My favourite time of year.
