As Muslims, we all know that The Arabic phrase l?? il??ha ill?? all??h is one of the major pillars of the Muslim faith. The first pillar of Islam is the “Shahadah”, also spelled “The Shahada”. It comes from the Arabic word “??????????????????” which means “The Testimony”, the testimony simply states that “There is no God but God and Muhammad is his prophet.” It underscores the monotheistic nature of Islam. It must be recited by every Muslim at least once in a lifetime, aloud, correctly, and purposively, with a full understanding of its meaning and with an assent of the heart.
Shahadah is the term given to making a declaration of faith and dedication to your belief that there is only one God, Allah SWT, and that he sent His Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to guide us.
