More than ever, organizations are prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) within their workplaces. In response to the global movement for racial justice in the summer of 2020, we are witnessing an increasing number of organizations building initiatives that create inclusive and equitable workplaces.
However, despite the rising focus on DE&I and anti-racism, DE&I staff and leaders hired, and millions of dollars invested — we have yet to witness significant accountability leading to impactful and systemic change. In fact, we are seeing more emboldened acts of white nationalism and discrimination happening across Canada and within workplaces.
