Let’s take a step back. Wherever you are on the political aisle, it’s evident that much has changed over the last two decades. What was once a neatly polarized Left v. Right split in the early 2000s has become a collection of fractures; ‘Establishment Liberals’ (Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Gavin Newsom) have butted heads both with ‘Radical Progressives’ (Bernie Sanders, AOC, Ilhan Omar, Cori Bush, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley, Jamaal Bowman, Summer Lee, Gregorio Casar) and ‘Democratic Centrists’ (RFK Jr., Cornell West, Dean Phillips, Jill Stein, Tulsi Gabbard, Andrew Yang). Meanwhile, Conservatives can— mostly — be grouped into either the Pro- or Anti- Trump camp. Of course, the question of America’s involvement in the ongoing Israel/Hamas war has only further complicated these divisions, especially amongst Democrats.
