Yafo, Yafa, Jaffa, are all names for the same place. Yafa or Yafo are the city’s Arabic names, Jaffa is the Hebrew name and the metropolitan city is actually called Tel Aviv-Yafo.
Tel Aviv was only established in 1909 as a suburb of Yafo but it soon became a hub for big business which caused it to boom.
