<p>The visitation room at Raleigh Central Prison is small, dark and oppressive. It is divided in half by a thick glass sheet, encased in a rusted, steel frame. The tiny space is stiflingly hot. If I stretch my arms, I can touch both concrete walls at the same time. The glare from the overhead light makes it difficult to see through the glass.
