Walking Between Worlds
<p>From “ladies and gentlemen”, “he or she”, “Black or white”, “gay/lesbian or straight” or even “happy or sad?” just about everything we do, say, or think about is <strong>binary</strong>. It is the way we have been taught to conceptualise the world around us.</p>
<p>While categories and labels are helpful to allow us to make sense of the world, this also limits our view of the world and disallows us to see certain things. As a result of our ‘either/or’ and ‘us versus them’ thinking many of us find ourselves <em>walking between worlds </em>and<em> living in the borderlands</em>.</p>
