Our Dear Buenos Aires: Marriage, Work and Children

As soon as I came back from our third trip to Buenos Aires I started to look for a way to live abroad longer than a vacation time. I discovered that there was a three months leave for cultural and technical improvement of Federal public employees. At the beginning I wondered how I could study English in the United Kingdom. One of my sister in law, who was a Central Bank employee, had travelled to London to learn English, but she didn’t give me any information about her school, or even about the process of finding an English school there. I truly didn’t understand why she did this! Moreover, I also discovered that my university had a weird custom of refusing applications for studying English abroad. Therefore, I decided to study Spanish in Buenos Aires, then I used the argument that my leave is important because the Merco-Sul agreement between Brazil and Argentina. I also made my enrolment in a Spanish course for Brazilians at Buenos Aires University, consequently, my application was approved. Thus, my wife and I could live in Buenos Aires for some months.

Website
