<p>On Wednesday night around 10:30 Eastern Standard Time, the Las Vegas Aces did something that the WNBA hadn’t seen in almost 25 years. The Aces repeated as champions after knocking off the New York Liberty in the Finals.</p>
<p>For perspective, the first season of the league occurred in 1997. The league’s first six titles were all repeats done by the Houston Comets for the first four years and then the Los Angeles Sparks for the next two. Since then, there have been a few dynasties but no repeat champions.</p>
<p>The reason it’s essential to know that the Comets and Sparks pulled off the same feat as the Aces is because there’s a chance for Nike to pull off a very similar feat that they did when the Comets and Sparks were at their prime. Nike can have another marquee signature athlete in the WNBA with her own signature shoe.</p>
