In this article when I’m talking about weeaboos, or weebs, I’m referring mostly to people who like anime and Japanese culture but not so much to those self-professed ‘Japanophiles’ who want to be Japanese and often fetishise Asian women.

In fact, many members of this community jokingly call ourselves weebs all the time. We are a group that is looked down upon and often assumed to be shut-in nerds who don’t know how to socialise with others. Often, this is related to our language use.
