The Spirits of La Ville Lumière
<p>Growing up sugar-coated with Hollywood spiels, the Eiffel Tower is an omnipresent structure that is supposed to make people swoon and weak in the knees. It’s been made out to be a symbol of romance, the site for many enchanting proposals. For reasons unknown, that failed on me. “<em>Meh</em>” I thought with no more surprise than stepping on a carelessly left-behind dog turd.</p>
<p>And then I came across this unusual phenomenon called “The Paris Syndrome”. Now <em>this got</em> my attention about the French capital.</p>
<p>They say distance makes the heart grow fonder. The fact that Europe is 9720 kilometers from Japan, Asians tend to have an inflated view of all things French.</p>
