Ukuko Oyster Vermicelli

Many places in Taipei serve up oyster vermicelli, but Ukuko (油庫口蚵仔麵線) delivers something that is well above average. Big oysters and large intestine swim among the tasty noodles, but for me the soup flavor is what really makes this one a stand-out at just $40 NT. It’s the first item on the menu, mixed vermicelli (綜合麵線).

If a bowl of noodles isn’t enough to fill you up, you can pick up a Taiwanese sausage as a side. Ukuko’s sausage isn’t my favorite, but is a decent offering worthy of consumption. Be sure to crush up some of the included garlic cloves and pair them with the each bite of sausage.
