Travel Journal: Greece №3 Athens

As a hobby of mine, I enjoy people watching, and as my personal travel partner, I have been watching Chad religiously — seeing what he finds intriguing and how he experiences traveling altogether. I have never seen anyone get so hyped up about something as Chad did for the Acropolis. I can’t recall how many times he excitingly told me to look up at the Acropolis, from every angle, every lookout, and every corner. He was so thrilled about the Acropolis that he downloaded the Rick Steves’ rendition of the Acropolis tour. With an earbud in his ear and an earbud in mine, we entered the glowing marble architecture of the Acropolis. As beautiful as the online photographs look, nothing can compare to the real-life majesty of entering the Propylaea and being immersed in the remains of ancient Greek architecture, so purely illuminated by the brightness of the Greek sun. There wasn’t a single cloud that day, and all that I could see was the crisp white marble against an azure blue sky.

Visit Now
