A long wait for justice — Court report — Timothy Richardson — 12th April 2019

“Crimes against children are crimes against the community’s future.” Judge Higham said before sentencing 82 year old Timothy Richardson to 8 years in prison for the sexual abuse of six boys between 1963 and 1973.

Richardson was a science teacher at Dandenong High School. He started working there in 1962. In January 2019 he was found guilty of two counts of buggery, and nine counts of attempted buggery and indecent assault of a minor under 14.

The offences took place in two buildings on a farm Richardson owned near Harkaway, south-east of Melbourne. Richardson would invite boys to his farm and at bedtime convince them to share a single bed with him.
