Chidambaram Thillai Nataraja Temple — link with the human body

Recently I had the blessing to visit the Thillai Nataraja temple at Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu. Ever since I got to know of the presence of the Nataraja statue at the CERN lab experimenting god particle, I had a strong curiosity for this temple owing to this close evidence linking science with ancient Hindu history/scriptures.

During my visit to the temple, I got a chance to read quite a bit about the history of the temple and had a chance to talk in deep lengths with one of the Deekshidars (temple priests). One of the many interesting aspects that came out from these discussions and readings was the close linkage of the temple architecture with the human body. Just jotting down these notes as I found it to be another fascinating example linking science to ancient Hindu scriptures and architecture.
