Ever since Trump pledged to build a wall and have “Mexico pay for it,” I’ve always wondered what would happen if Democrats adopted tougher language on the border. Now, it looks like I’m finally getting my answer.
Whether or not it’s as big of a problem as people think it is, border security and illegal immigration remain a major concern of American voters. After all, if it weren’t for some degree of latent xenophobia, Trump wouldn’t have pulled off his upset win against Hillary Clinton in 2016.
