Never Leave The Table Until You Got What You Wanted
<p>The Internet is full of advice on achieving success in business life. But there’s no single way of winning; there’s no single recipe you apply repeatedly. In a war, every battle is different, requiring different tactics. Similarly, to succeed, you need an arsenal of tactics that you can employ whenever required. I’ll add another to your arsenal: Never leave the table until you get what you want.</p>
<p>Working as a Cloud Solutions Architect, I’ve been involved in many meetings and discussions. It included business units, C-level managers and executives, developers, agencies, you name it. Most meetings are pointless, and they could be emails instead. But some meetings are crucial, and you need to conquer them.</p>
<p>When I was working at ING Turkey, there was a group manager that I admired. Every meeting she attended, she wouldn’t leave the table until she got what she or her team wanted or needed. She was a legend in the company; the people who worked under her in the organisation loved her, and others feared her, which unfortunately included us.</p>
