The Diabetic Cyborg Life 09/13: Scammers & Relationships

The unmentioned proverbial elephant in the room for a while with my current wife and my family was their suspicions, she was a catfish fake scammer. I was victim to one on Facebook as I blogged about here to take their gusto away that was never heard from after the first scam. Many of my family believed Fatema, my current wife, was another scammer until she provided ID, Passport, and countless educational certificates with her name on them.

I believed from the first chat it was all legitimate and that proof and monthly, then weekly, then daily video calls further showed her true self. I was head over heels from seeing her and learning about her personality. Such a gorgeous woman can have the same way as my mom and me were just plain crazy.

Our friendship and my mother’s ability to empathize honed from teaching high school for 18 years, was a huge part of her falling for me.
