The Depths of a Thousand Leagues
<p>I am just a drop<br />
in the heaviest ocean,<br />
two bodies in one,<br />
two sides of me —<br />
<em>transparent as<br />
a clear atmosphere<br />
yet dark as the depths<br />
of a thousand leagues.</em></p>
<p>On a cold night,<br />
the moon pulls the tide<br />
and I move<br />
against my will —<br />

before I am pulled under,<br />
and who knows when<br />
I will see blue skies again?</em></p>
<p>Lost in the waves,<br />
sunken lower<br />
day by day,<br />
I wonder why<br />
I was born with a heart<br />
bound to a weighted anchor<br />
that leaves me sinking<br />
closer to an unknown void<br />
filled with graveyards<br />
of old ships and glass bottles<br />
that once held letters<br />
of love and dreams?</p>
