‘Ted Lasso’ Zaps Me Back to My Time in Spain

<p>Idon&rsquo;t know a lot about f&uacute;tbol &mdash; or, as we Americans call it, soccer.</p> <p>And I&rsquo;m stubborn when it comes to watching shows and movies I can&rsquo;t relate to. The occasional action movie is okay, but I can never relate to muscle-bound helicopter-jumpers who always save the day &mdash; and with damn good hair.</p> <p>So stepping foot onto the pitch, I initially didn&rsquo;t want to watch the Apple TV+ comedy:&nbsp;<em>Ted Lasso</em>.</p> <p><em>Ted Lasso</em>, on the surface, is about a fish-out-of-water f&uacute;tbol coach. But once the layers are pulled back, the series reveals that the titular character, played by Jason Sudeikis, is trying to escape his feelings via a lucrative coaching offer that&rsquo;s nowhere near his coaching wheelhouse.
