<p>Chronic diseases are hard to navigate; once diagnosed, they become a lifelong companion. Although the symptoms vary, frequent signs of an underlying issue include fatigue, pain, sleep problems, mood changes, reduced energy, and reduced ability to perform daily routines.</p>

<p>In my case, the roulette of chronic diseases landed on hypothyroidism. Imagine feeling drained, lethargic, and failing to keep up a healthy weight despite your best efforts. I also experienced hair loss and dry skin, and even in hot summers I occasionally endured an unrelenting feeling of being cold.</p>
<p>Hypothyroidism is associated with a slow metabolism due to issues with the thyroid gland. Although hypothyroidism affects all genders, studies indicate that women may have a higher susceptibility to this condition. The American Thyroid Association reports that approximately 1 in 8 women in the United States will experience thyroid disease during their lifetime.</p>
<p>Fortunately, hypothyroidism is a recognized and manageable condition. I have experienced primarily mild symptoms, with only a few occasional setbacks.</p>
