The Diary of an Exchange Student in Boston

I’ve already stayed in Boston for one month. I feel so grateful that I chose to study in the United States a year before, because I am experiencing a different lifestyle right now and I quite enjoy it. The most obvious difference between Hong Kong and Boston, is weather for sure. The temperature of Boston in January was usually slightly below 0˚C. If the sky is bluer that day, it will be probably cooler also. Last week, there was a blizzard in Boston and the temperature dropped to -15˚C. The snow was up to my knee after the day of blizzard. My hands were frozen quickly on my way to Target (a large retailer of general merchandise and food products in the US).

Apart from temperature, the daylight time is another big difference. The sky starts to turn dust at 4pm, and it becomes dark earlier than 6pm. Restaurants not in downtown close around 8pm. Therefore, my lifestyle is unexpectedly become healthier in Boston: I usually have dinner at 6pm, go to bed at 11pm and get up at 6am for college.
