<p>The focus on wellbeing and mental health has been growing, especially during and after Covid where people were forced to “cut ties” with family, friends, and colleagues for a long period of time. A study from the Mental Health Foundation, which tracked mental health across the pandemic, showed that one in four adults (24%) in the UK has felt lonely because of COVID-19.</p>
<p>Multiple studies also show that wellbeing in the workplace has a direct impact on productivity, and business leaders should start to take notice and act on it. However a recent CIPD study into Health & Wellbeing at Work showed that does not seem to be the case. In fact this study has highlighted that wellbeing has fallen down in senior business leaders agendas. This is something to be concerned about as leadership buy-in and engagement throughout is fundamental to ensure the success of wellbeing and mental health programmes.</p>
<p>Wellbeing in the workplace is very important and consultants developing and implementing those need to cater for the various elements of the wellbeing pyramid. They also need to take in consideration ongoing initiatives to ensure there is alignment to achieve the final objective to support people in organisations.</p>
