The mystery of the strange gods of Tassili
<p>This area is where an impressive mountainous massif rises, surrounded by sandstone rock formations that resemble enormous sentinels that have been worn down by time and the elements.</p>
<p>It is <strong>Tassili,</strong> a word that comes from the <strong>Tuareg and</strong> means “plateau between two rivers.” A setting famous for containing in its caves and caverns an entire artistic legacy from the Upper Paleolithic and Neolithic. 1,500 cave paintings from the first centuries of our era, in which we are shown the customs of the time, the evolution of the fauna, and, curiously, strange manifestations of weightless beings with gigantic round heads.</p>
