Stop the Ride — We Need To Get Off
<p>Recently, somebody sent me a meme depicting baby Yoda in a thoughtful pose along with the words “I bet aliens ride past Earth and lock their doors.” To be honest, I wouldn’t blame them if they did.</p>
<p>One look at the headlines in a selection of major metropolitan newspapers on any given day is enough to give the average person chills. The planet’s weather is quickly spiraling out of control, leading to more and more natural disasters. Right-wing authoritarian political leaders are flourishing across the globe, resulting in an unprecedented loss of freedom for more people than ever before. In America hatred and division continue to disenfranchise marginalized communities, placing them at extreme disadvantage <strong><em>despite there being consistent and continuous media coverage of these outrages</em></strong>. Russia continues to wage war in Ukraine, effectively destabilizing all of Europe and Israel is once again attempting to commit genocide in Palestine supported by many of the world’s most prosperous nations, which has effectively destabilized everywhere else.</p>
