Logitech’s G305 is Still Somehow Great

I first wanted to write this with the more Google-able title of “The Best Value Wireless Gaming Mouse,” but I’ll be honest — I’m super tired of writing stuff like that. No matter how much effort I put into it, or how many times I point out that I don’t use affiliate links or take any sort of compensation from companies, it still comes off like something that Logitech would want to post on their official blog.

Most gaming and tech articles end up serving a dual purpose as marketing. It’s unavoidable, since the business is such a dominant part of the space. Sales tactics pervade every corner of these “hobbies,” which aren’t really hobbies at all in the case of gaming peripherals and other gear. The word “hobby” does a ton of work as an excuse for you to buy more and more stuff as you are gently urged on by the tech companies themselves.

Still, sometimes I have some thoughts about a gaming mouse and I want to get them out of my head and onto the internet. But I don’t intend this as an overt or even subtle piece of marketing. I’m writing this just to put these things somewhere and if it helps you make a decision that’s great. For me it’s more a thought exercise, wondering why this little mouse is still one of the better things in Logitech’s gaming lineup in spite of a huge staff of talented people over there and years/millions of dollars of additional R and D spend.

Website
