RV camping Cataloochee Campground in the Smoky Mountains: We ‘didn’t belong there’

Few RV trips compare with the Smoky Mountains in the fall. Our journey was in a 32-foot class C motorhome with a Jeep Wrangler in tow.

The fall colors were spectacular. The roads smooth. Spirits high.

And then, we decided to go to the Cataloochee campground near Waynesville, North Carolina.

It was a great decision. It was a terrible decision. It was both.

A small boondocking campground
