Retirement Life: Sometimes I’m Alone In A Desert

Just last Saturday, I accomplished something I never thought I would do. I jumped out of a plane at 10,000 feet. It was my first skydiving experience (and my last) at age 72. This finished my 25-item bucket list. I experienced no problems whatsoever. There was not even a scratch when we landed about 500 feet from the projected landing spot. We landed in some weeds. But I was perfectly fine.

Something Simple, Something Dangerous

This past Wednesday, I went to my freezer to get some ice. I love that crushed ice you can buy in a 10-pound bag at a local fast-food restaurant. When I put some in my tumbler, I dropped some on the newly installed ceramic tile. I noticed the ice bounced about three times. That ceramic tile is hard—I mean, really hard. I decided to get water in my tumbler before picking up that ice off the floor.
